Girls’ and Boys’ Day took place yesterday. On this occasion, we gave four schoolgirls from the region the opportunity to get a taste of the profession of IT specialist in the field of “application development”. In addition, two pupils were able to get to know the profession of office management assistant specializing in “Administration”. ☎️ 💻
A special highlight on this day was the visit of District Administrator Johann Kalb (District Administrator of the Bamberg district). He was accompanied by the Equal Opportunities Officer, Ms. Stefanie Schuhmann, and Ms. Patricia Leistner, Head of Economic Development.
For District Administrator Kalb, Girls’ and Boys’ Day is an important matter, because in his opinion it is important to take special care of the young people in our society due to the current tense situation on the job market. In addition, Mr. Kalb considers the merger of Girls’ and Boys’ Day, which now offers boys and girls alike the opportunity to get a taste of female and male-dominated professions, to be particularly useful.
By participating in Girls’ and Boys’ Day, Softway AG would like to present itself as a potential employer in the region, promote a stereotype-free career choice and introduce girls and boys to male- and female-dominated professions.

Statement Mr. Kalb: We all know that there is a shortage of workers everywhere at the moment and that’s why it’s really important to look after young people. And what used to be Girls Day, where male professions were offered to girls. Now it’s the other way around, the girls have found their way in the meantime. And now, of course, there are many professions where you could also introduce boys. I think it makes a lot of sense to bring Girls’ Day and Boys’ Day together.
