10 questions for Hans-Jürgen Pfister – In our column “10 questions for…” we would like to introduce our Sales Manager Hans-Jürgen Pfister today.
On January 1, 1999, after my commercial training and a few years in sales, I was looking for a change. At that time, I really wanted to do something “with IT” and decided to do an internal apprenticeship as an SAP programmer at Softway. In 2003, our paths diverged for the time being.
During the “Softway-free” period, I first worked for a Franconian and then for an Austrian kitchen appliance manufacturer. After it became clear that this company would be withdrawing from the German market, Universum came into play. By a stroke of luck, I got talking to István Veiland (then CEO of Softway AG) and told him about my career change plans. We quickly agreed that I would expand my sales activities at Softway AG.
I completed a traditional commercial apprenticeship. In 2007, I completed a part-time degree in business administration and a few months ago I trained as a coach specializing in employee development and leadership.
Contact and interaction with people. Selling. Helping other people and companies with solutions and making their everyday work easier.
I realized quite early on that I wanted to do something with trade and sales.
The great thing about my job is that there is no such thing as a typical working day – every day is different. As I am deeply involved in the decision-making processes in marketing and sales, coordination on a wide range of topics from these areas takes up a large part of my day. Of course, I am also responsible for managing the sales department with the corresponding management and controlling measures. Sales is my passion – that’s why, despite all the stress, I don’t miss the opportunity to play an active role in acquiring new customers, presenting our solutions and supporting existing customers.
I get up early in the morning and do a sports session first. This clears my head for the day so that I can start work relaxed. I also seek relaxation in nature and meditation.
Working together is a priority for us. Here, everyone helps everyone else and you can rely on your colleagues to support you at all times. Humor also plays a big role here. We laugh a lot together. But despite the relaxed atmosphere, the focus is on professionalism and achieving goals together.
As previously described, sport plays a certain role. I also try to travel as often as possible. Of course, I have no objection at all to a good dinner. 😊
