A day as an IT specialist at Softway AG.
On April 26, 2018, Softway AG will open its doors for the nationwide Girls’ Future Day. Two schoolgirls will have the opportunity to get to know the company and gain an insight into the profession of IT specialist for application development. With this campaign, Softway AG wants to present itself as a potential employer in the region and at the same time counteract the shortage of skilled workers in the IT sector.
“Often, students have not yet completed their career orientation. I also only decided to train as an IT specialist in the second stage and am more than happy with my decision. I really enjoy the varied work, including within various customer projects,” confirms Bianca Bischoff, IT specialist trainee for application development in her final year of training at Softway AG.
Girls’Day has been a nationally sponsored project since 2001 that helps girls choose a career. Pupils from the 5th grade onwards can apply for internships. Numerous institutions and companies from the IT, technology, science and trades sectors are also taking part in the campaign this year. The aim is to increase equal opportunities for girls in so-called male-dominated STEM professions. Girls’Day offers everyone involved the opportunity to throw typical gender roles overboard and redefine diversity.
“We are very proud of the fact that we already have a balanced proportion of men and women in our company. This not only guarantees a pleasant working atmosphere, but also a productive and profitable exchange in everyday working life,” says István Veiland, CEO of Softway AG.
Softway AG can look back on 30 years of IT experience. It has specialized primarily in forms and output management in the SAP environment. The aim is to customize, design and optimize forms. Softway AG offers a wide range of services in the SAP and SAP environment as well as individual software solutions, support and workshops.
Softway AG is taking part in Girls’ Day for the third time.
