Find out how companies can strategically set up their forms landscape in the course of the S/4HANA migration! Watch our Expert Talk in full length now.
The switch to SAP S/4HANA is one of the biggest transformation tasks currently facing SAP user companies. Many organizations have already defined their roadmap, as mainstream support for SAP ECC will end by 2027 at the latest – with an optional extension until 2030 or 2033. The focus will then be on topics such as the use of the SAP HANA in-memory database, real-time analyses, simplified data models and modern programming paradigms. However, one central component is often neglected in the migration process: SAP forms management.
Forms are a company’s calling card – whether in communication with customers, suppliers or authorities. Despite this, the conversion of the forms landscape, which has often grown over the years, is only considered at a late stage. The reality shows: Numerous SAPscript forms are still in use in many systems – a technology from the early 90s that has not been further developed for over two decades.
The problem is that SAPscript is not only technologically outdated, but also harbors operational risks. Developers who are familiar with the old technology are increasingly retiring or are no longer available on the job market. At the same time, the forms are often difficult to analyze, maintain or expand. New legal requirements such as e-billing or internal CI specifications can only be implemented at great expense.
In our expert talk, we will show how companies can strategically set up their forms landscape in the course of the S/4HANA migration. We will highlight the typical stumbling blocks in the brownfield approach as well as the opportunities of a greenfield restart or hybrid bluefield scenario.
Include the topic of forms on the S/4HANA agenda at an early stage. This is the only way to avoid unpleasant surprises and budget overruns.
In an interview with Helge Sanden (Editor-in-Chief of IT-Onlinemagazin), Frank Engert (CEO Softway AG) and Hans-Jürgen Pfister (CSO Softway AG) explain how your forms will NOT become a trap during the S/4 migration.
