10 questions for Peter Wichert-Schindler – In our column “10 questions for…” we would like to introduce our project manager and developer Peter Wichert-Schindler today.
I have been working for Softway AG since 2012. At the time, I was looking for an SAP service provider in the Hirschaid area that could perfectly complement my professional interests and skills. During my research, I came across Softway AG and was immediately impressed by their products and the tasks. The decision was therefore easy for me and I am very happy to have taken this step.
I completed almost two years of retraining, which lasted from 2012 to 2014. This retraining enabled me to expand my professional skills and prepare myself for the demands of the IT sector, particularly in the SAP area.
To be successful as an IT specialist in application development, you should have the motivation for continuous further training, as there is no standing still in IT. In addition, abstract and logical thinking and an understanding of business processes are important. These skills help to solve complex problems and develop efficient software solutions.
As an SAP developer, what fascinates me most is the variety. Every day brings new challenges where I can ponder requirements and develop the best solution. This constant demand keeps the job exciting and challenging. It is particularly fulfilling to solve difficult problems and to feel the joy of the results achieved at the end of the day. In addition, you are always learning new things, which makes the job dynamic and interesting.
Phew, to be honest, I didn’t have a fixed dream job. I just let a lot of things in my life come to me. I didn’t have a specific career goal in mind – apart from maybe becoming a professional footballer, but that was more of a joke of course.
As a project manager and developer, I take care of the organization of projects, which provides daily variety. My tasks include budgeting, documentation, coordination, capacity planning and checking and creating orders. In addition to these organizational tasks, I am also actively involved in project development. I particularly enjoy integrating myself into the internal product development at Softway, especially our SAP add-on SSP Forms, and helping to develop it.
After a stressful day at work, I find relaxation by spending time with my family and friends. Physical exercise such as gardening, woodwork or sport also helps me to switch off and recharge my batteries.
The work and the team at Softway AG are characterized by a relaxed atmosphere and flat hierarchies. Everyone knows everyone else, which creates a family atmosphere. We have nice colleagues who make the working environment very pleasant. Softway AG is also characterized by flexible working options, whether working from home or in the office.
In my free time, I like to play basketball and go jogging, even if these hobbies are a bit neglected at the moment due to building a house. I also enjoy playing community games and spending time with friends, for example at barbecues.
